Manifold, de l’anglais Stephen Baxter, est une série de trois romans suivis d’un recueil de nouvelles dans le même thème.
Chacun de ces livres traite du paradoxe de Fermi (aucun contact avec des aliens jusqu’à présent malgré la forte probabilité que la Terre ne soit pas la seule planète à abriter la vie dans l’univers), avec à chaque fois une explication possible de ce paradoxe.
Le personnage principal est présent dans tous les volumes, mais les histoires se déroulent toutes dans des univers différents.
